This oli is usually chanted by students of the
Kamehameha schools seeing that it has greater significance for us but is not limited to.
This oli tells of the birth of and gives praise to Kamehameha nui.

'O Kamehameha lani ka'eu ke ano kapu
'O ka haku manawa kapu ali'i kena
He ali'i no ka mu'o lani kapu o Lono
Nona ke kapu, ka wela, ka hahana

He inoa no Kamehameha.

Translation:
Heavenly Kamehameha holds the esteemed taboo
A lord possessing the sacred, royal fontanel
Nobel successor of Lono's sanctity
For him the taboo, the heat, the warmth
That ascends to the summit
The earthquakes rumble, the earth shudders, the seas churn
The island quakes
View the chiefly emblem of the heavenly one
Given by Kahekili
Received by the high-ranking cheifess Keku'iapoiwa
A hot flash of light over the earth
A song of praise
Praise be to the heavenly Kamehameha
The exalted chief be honored
In honor of Kamehameha.
